About the Deuter Climber 22

Designed for the young alpinist, the Climber is a fully capable and adequately sized smaller version of the infamous Guide backpack. It is the ideal companion for those first summit attempts and prospecting via ferratas.

Unobtrusive, the streamlined design of the Climber makes it highly suited for scrambles and alpine climbs where a slender profile is paramount. Ice axe and trekking pole straps facilitate the transport of technical tools and with gear loops on the soft hip fins for hardware, it is ideal for the first steps leading an alpine route. A zippered pocket under the hood is perfect for keeping valuables and lift passes close at hand. The Climber is a hydration system compatible with a sleeve on the inside of the pack and a clip for the drinking hose.

The Climber features Deuter’s Alpine back system where the combination of comfort, durability, and functionality is paramount. Two soft stripe back pads run parallel vertically, allowing for optimal airflow to the upper back. The Climber is bonded to Deuter’s Guide X frame, a pair of aluminum stays that provide excellent flexibility and strength, ideal for hauling climbing equipment. Anatomic hip belts are made with laminate foam for comfort and offer superb flexibility whilst transferring weight effectively onto the hips.

The Climber is made from a combination of Deuter fabrics. The base and front panels of the pack are made from Deuter’s Ripstop 210, a 210 denier nylon. The fabric is robust and coated in premium quality Polyurethane, providing exceptional durability for hard-wearing areas. The remainder of the pack is constructed from Deuter Microrip Nylon, a 210 den nylon fabric, a fine ultralight yet durable nylon, ideal for when weight is the primary concern. The combination of these materials allows for maximum durability without sacrificing weight.
